Regional Assault Care Program provides health care services for
women, men, and children, who are victims of sexual assault or domestic
violence. Options include: emergency health care and follow-up, emotional
support and safety planning. Services can be accessed through the emergency
departments of any hospital in Renfrew County. Non emergency clients
can call 1-800-363-7222 for appointment.

The Renfrew County Victim Crisis
Assistance & Referral Service (VCARS) / Victim Services is
a non-profit volunteer based organization which assists police and fire
services in providing 24/7 emotional and practical assistance to people
who have experienced a crime, tragic life event or disaster.

Renfrew County Legal Clinic
assists low income residents throughout Renfrew County by providing
advice, self-help, referrals, and/or representation in many areas of
law (such as social assistance, CPP, EI and other employment issues,
Criminal Injuries Compensation, tenancy issues); we also provide community
legal education and advocate for law reform.

North Renfrew Family Services
Inc. (NRFS) assists residents of North Renfrew from Chalk River
to Deux Rivières, through counseling for personal and emotional
difficulties; family;marriage;grief and coping;women, men and children
who have experienced family violence. Other services: crisis intervention,
advocacy, referral and support programs.

The Victim/Witness Assistance
Program of the Ministry of the Attorney General is designed to
help those who are involved in a criminal case either because they are
victims of a crime or because they have been called as a witness to
testify in a case. Although the Program does not exclude any particular
group of victims or witnesses, it offers services on a priority basis.

The Women’s Sexual Assault
Centre of Renfrew County is a not for profit grassroots community
based volunteer organization that offers a variety of services for women
who have survived sexual abuse at any time in their lives. The Centre
also offers resources and supports for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans
gendered community members and their families.

Reverend Catherine Bromell of
the United Church of Canada is a member who supports women's
needs. In conjunction with the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre,
two church services were given that spread the message of violence against
women. She is involved with two congregations, St.Andrew’s United
Church, Beachburg and Trinity United Church, Forest’s Falls.

Private Practice
Sharon Klinck, M.Sc. provides couple and
individual therapy in private practice, with offices in Pembroke, Arnprior
and Kanata. She also has a specialty in dealing with sexual issues.
Although her practice is not geared specifically toward violence issues,
she does work with many clients who have histories which include physical
or sexual violence. Dealing with the effects of this violence is often
part of the work done together.

Julie Edwards Counselling Services.
Julie is a master’s level, registered social worker who is providing
therapy in her own private practice located within the Sheppard’s
Life Centre. Julie has strengths and a particular interest in counselling
youth and doing wilderness therapy. She has also done several years
of therapy working with adults, families and groups, treating them for
a wide variety of presenting problems while working in a hospital setting.
